Assistant Professor of Audio Technology (tenure track)

The Department of Performing Arts in the College of Arts and Sciences
at American University invites application for a tenure-track position
in Audio Technology at the rank of assistant professor to begin in
Fall 2010. Qualified candidates should hold a graduate degree in audio
engineering or production, music technology, or a closely related
field; have practical experience as a recording engineer and/or music
technologist, and experience in any areas related to acoustic
recording and production.

Successful applicants should show clear potential for achievement in
the area of research and/or creative work. Responsibilities include
teaching undergraduate courses for audio technology majors, new course
development for majors and non-majors, student advising, and
departmental and university service. A strong commitment and
demonstrated excellence in teaching is expected. The audio technology
program is poised to move into planned new facilities during the
summer of 2010.

To apply, please submit a letter of application and curriculum vitae,
along with three letters of recommendation. Please describe research/
creative interests and teaching experience as part of the letter of
application.
