Subject: Habitacion del Ruido - Mexico City - call for November 2010

Dear all,

this is a call to premier our new 8.2 concert system at UCSJ in Mexico
City. There are 2 spaces for a multichannel concert on November 24,
2010. I am looking for:

- 1 seminar in multichannel sound (pre-studio and live diffusion, no
live diffusion ok but pre-studio mandatory)
- 1 seminar in multichannel sound and video
- (both with practical examples)
- One concert. Each presenter 10 mins only, sadly, as i intend to
create a varied concert that includes other composers that we have
invited in the past
(mixed concerts are possible, specially for cello and piano but not
guaranteed at this point)

conditions:
- You pay for your flight. We do NOT pay for flights (sadly)
- We DO pay for 2 nights hotel for each of you at Majestic Zocalo (www.majestichotel.com.mx
) and:
- We pay a $80 USD courtesy fee for each seminar presenter
- We do NOT pay for your concert and, furthermore, since it is free
entrance concert it is not possible to get money from tickets
(although I think I will try to change this)

I first need to know who is interested and who has the time and the
money for the flight (or has institutional conditions to get a flight).

Then please send:

Artist/s: name/s
Date: your date given by HR
Title: general title of your visit which encompasses both your seminar/
s and you live presentation. We print and publish this.
Sub-titles: if applicable, use different sub-titles for both your
seminar and your live presentation apart from the general title
described above.
Descritpion: general description of your whole visit (200 words max)
Bio-fast: 1-3 lines which summarize the best of your career (for
example, you can mention your international prizes). We use this in a
catchy way so we can print it under your name in the published poster.
Biography: short biography (300 words max)
Contact: email + web page (if applicable)
Photography: digital (300 DPI)
Technical requirements: in detail
MP3's: 3 examples of audio works of 1 minute duration each (3 minutes
in total); audiovisual extracts welcome and encouraged too, but it is
mandatory to submit audio-only files even if audiovisual artist
because we use these files to create radio-spots (sound only) in order
to help the publicity of your visit.

Habitación del Ruido is a monthly sonic art series at UCSJ, Mexico (www.ucsj.edu.mx/hr)
. Past guests include: Thomas Gerwin, Javier Alvarez, Kevin Austin,
Volkmar Klien and many more.

Official invite letters as well as diplomas of participation can be
produced for institutional purposes.

DEAD LINE: MAY 24, 2010 (sorry... late notice)

Best wishes,

Pablo
