I am delighted to announce the premiere of a new commission.
On 10th August, I will be presenting a substantial new work for 4-channel electronics and double bass commissioned by the Bayreuth Literature Festival „Bayreuth Blättert“.
The work entitled „The Tears That Bless The Ashes“ takes the symbolism of ‚burning‘ as its starting point. The sound of burning paper, reminiscent of the incineration and destruction of literature, also reminds the listener of the destruction of culture and of humanity itself. Gradually, as the work progresses, humanity weeps in shame and anger, its tears falling upon the ashes of destruction, blessing them, and creating streams of healing and comfort.
The performance will feature Benjamin Hiesinger on double bass, and takes place at 17:30 in the Regierungsgärtlein.
