XIVth INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF ELECTROACOUSTIC AND ELECTRONIC MUSIC ¨SPRING IN HABANA¨
JUAN BLANCO IN MEMORIAM
Celebrating the Centennial of Maestro Juan Blanco
The National Laboratory of Electroacoustic Music, the National Center of Concert Music and the Cuban Institute of Music convoke composers, sound artists, instrumentalists and DJ´s producers of electronic music to take part in the twenty fourth issue of the INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF ELECTROACOUSTIC AND ELECTRONIC MUSIC ¨SPRING IN HABANA¨. This issue will also be dedicated to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the National Laboratory of Electroacoustic Music, the 30th anniversary of the Carlos Fariñas Studio of Electroacoustic Musical Art, the 85th anniversary of Maestro Carlos Fariñas, the 70th anniversary of Maestro Juan Piñera as well as the 100 years of the creation of the Theremin. The event will be held from Tuesday, March 10th to Sunday March 15th of 2020.
The venues of ¨SPRING IN HABANA¨ will be concert halls of the Cuban Capital City– that is turning 500 years in 2019- such as Havana´s Historic Site, the National Museum of Fine Arts, Casa de las Americas, ¨Bertold Brecht¨ Cultural Compound and Salón Rosado ¨Benny More¨.
The program will include concerts of electroacoustic music, electronic music sessions, performances and two lecture spaces dedicated one to electroacoustics and the other to electronic music.
The electroacoustic works proposed should be for tape; mixed for flute, clarinet, saxophone, piano, cello and violin; live electronics performances; electronic music sessions and audiovisuals. Their duration -except for those electronic-, should not exceed 10 minutes.

The authors of selected pieces attending the festival must pay a registration fee of 50 Cuban convertible pesos that will allow them access to all the events of the festival by means of a credential. Performers are exempted of payment.
Propositions of curated stereo programs no longer than 40 minutes from institutions involved with electroacoustic creation such as Universities and specialized Centers and Studios will be accepted.
