Applicants are sought for a part-time, fixed-term Teaching Fellowship
in Music (Composition with Technology). This Fellowship is intended to
provide continuity in our composition and technology teaching during
Professor Andrew Lewis’s research leave. The successful candidate will
work alongside our new full-time appointee in this area, teaching
aspects of composition with electronic, computer and digital
technology, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Modules to be
taught include Acousmatic Music Composition and Max/MSP, alongside
teaching in other technology-related areas such as Recording
Techniques and Practical Music Technology. An ability to teach aspects
of instrumental and vocal composition would also be an advantage, as
would the ability to teach one or more historical or musicological
modules in any area of twentieth/twenty-first century music, with or
without technology. The person appointed would also be expected to
contribute to our research programme in technology-related areas.

The 0.4 FTE post is tenable for 12 months from 23 January 2012.

As the School maintains a high profile in Welsh-medium teaching and
research, applications from candidates wishing to learn Welsh would be
welcomed.

Closing date for applications: 1.00 p.m. Friday 9th December 2011.
