Betreff: Lecturer in Composition – University of Aberdeen, Scotland

The University of Aberdeen is advertising a full-time post of Lecturer
in Composition. We welcome applications from high quality candidates
of outstanding promise and/or with established reputations as composers.

The successful candidate will contribute work of outstanding
international distinction to the research profile of the Music
Department. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate a strong
commitment to, and some experience of, teaching at undergraduate
level. Research interests amongst composition staff within the
discipline include instrumental, vocal, choral and electroacoustic
music. This is complemented by musicological work in contemporary
music, and sits alongside musicology, ethnomusicology, performance and
scholarly editions of music. A thematic strand cutting across the
broad sub-disciplines of composition, musicology and performance is
vocal music.

An ability to teach across a variety of areas will be an advantage.
Ideally we would wish to appoint a composer who can contribute both to
instrumental/vocal and electroacoustic composition, and who would be
able to contribute to general teaching in other areas.
