Lecturer in Music Technology Department of Music
The Department of Music at UMBC seeks a well-qualified Lecturer (Full-time) in Music Technology, to begin August 21, 2018. This position will be responsible for all first year courses for the music technology major (audio recording and editing), teaching students in all five of the music majors the required music technology core curriculum (basic audio recording/editing and music notation), mentoring upper level required senior projects, and supervising internships. This individual will provide research support to performance faculty, producing documentation (video and audio recordings) of their performances, and will supervise recording of all student performances. Individual must demonstrate required skills and aptitude for maintenance of music technology teaching spaces and recording studios. Applicants who demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion by way of teaching, performing, publishing, or volunteer experiences are urged to submit an application.
Salary competitive. Masters required, with successful college teaching experience or equivalent graduate-level training. The successful applicant will be an experienced recording engineer, with additional skills/experiences that will serve to broaden our curricular offerings. Teaching Certification in Pro Tools a plus.
