Brief synopsis of Dept:
Programmes: BSc Music Technology; BMus Music; BMus Popular Music; MA
Music Composition; MA Music Technology; PhD.
New Facilities include composition, recording, post-production and
electronica studios. The Fire Station at the Historic Dockyard will
features a brand-new spatial audio studio with 16.4 monitoring, a
Foley studio and ensemble rehearsal space. Meanwhile, the old Foundry
is home to a new recording studio currently being set-up as stereo and
5.1. The new studios are designed by DACS. We have a range of existing
studios, some of which are being redeveloped into practice rooms, and
a computer suite. There is a new performance space in development – in
the Galvanising Shop – that will host Music and Audio Arts Sound
Theatre (MAAST) – a dedicated 24-way sound diffusion system.
Many thanks,
Tim
