On June 2nd there is a very special evening at Berghain with Marcus
Schmickler, nonprivate (a. k. a. cylob) and Hecker.
All three artists will play live, presenting music they develop with the
programming language SuperCollider. SuperCollider is an evolving open source
project run by a community of artists and electronic musicians. In contrast
to Ableton, Native Instruments or Logic Audio, SuperCollider is available
for free, and offers a rich palette of possibilities for electronic music,
from sound synthesis algorithms and structural ideas to playable
instruments. The artists donate the proceeds to support its continued
development. The next symposium on music, art and research involving
SuperCollider is in September in Berlin – so mark your calendars!
Berghain is the perfect location for this marvelous evening. In addition to
its weekend raves, this legendary club has been space for modern electronic
music beyond the mainstream club fare, such as the Elektro-Acoustic Salon
series. All three performers are well known in the electronic music scene,
we are very much looking forward to this exciting evening. After the
concert, the evening continues with a party at the Killekill Club in the
Berghain Kantine next door.

Am 2ten Juni gibt es im Berghain einen ganz besonderen Abend mit Marcus
Schmickler, nonprivate (auch bekannt als cylob) und Hecker.
Alle drei Künstler werden Musik live spielen, die sie mit der
Programmiersprache SuperCollider entwickeln. SuperCollider ist eine
klassisches open source Projekt, das eine Community von und für
KünstlerInnen und ProduzentInnen von elektronischer Musik weiter entwickelt
und das ständig in Bewegung ist. Anders als etwa die übliche Software von
Ableton, Native Instruments oder Logic Audio ist SuperCollider frei und
umsonst verfügbar und stellt ein reiches Instrumentarium für elektronische
Musik dar, von Klang-Algorithmen über Strukturideen bis zu spielbaren
Instrumenten. Die beteiligten Künstler spielen ohne Gage, um die weitere
Entwicklung von SC zu unterstützen. Das nächste internationale Symposium zu
SuperCollider wird im September in Berlin stattfinden – am besten jetzt
schon vormerken!
Das Berghain ist der perfekte Ort für diesen tollen Abend, denn schon lange
macht der weltberühmte Club neben seinen Wochenend Raves viel Platz für
moderne elektronische Musik abseits des Clubbetriebs, zum Beispiel mit der
Reihe elektro-Akustischer Salon. Alle drei Mitwirkenden des Abends sind gute
Bekannte der Szene und wir freuen uns sehr auf diesen spannenden Abend. Im
Anschluss an das Konzert findet im benachbarten Killekill Club in der
Berghain Kantine noch eine Party statt.
