A heads up about some upcoming concerts I am involved in – in Berlin
(July 11) and in Victoria, British Columbia (July 23).
BERLIN –GERMANY– JULY 11
This Saturday, 11. July at 20:00 Ernst Surberg will be playing my piece,
4238 De Bullion, for piano and live digital video and audio sampling and
processing. Ernst and I have been working together for a while for this
performance, and it will be a new interpretation of the piece as well as
a new technical setup.
The concert of ensemble mosaik is part of the festival „Heroines of
Sound“ and also features works by Szmytka, Schiphorst, and
Papalexandri-Alexandri.

VICTORIA—BC—CANADA – July 23
On Thursday, July 23rd my new piece, ROOMS, for quartet and live
electronics will be premiered by Ensemble Tsilumos as part of the Salt
New Music Festival and Symposium in Victoria, B.C.
Rooms explores the effect a musical or spatial environment has on a
musical object. Sound material played live in the concert hall is also
heard as samples recorded by the musicians in various environmental
spaces. Live and recorded sounds are projected through loudspeakers big
and small, which are at times placed in various resonating containers,
including the mouths of the musicians. What a trip!
