AHRC Doctoral Studentship in Music 2012/13
The Faculty of Art, Design and Humanities at De Montfort University is
pleased to offer an Arts and Humanities Research Council PhD
studentship in Music, available from 1 October 2012.
De Montfort University’s Music, Technology and Innovation Research
Centre (MTIRC) is a world-leading player in the area of
electroacoustic music composition and related scholarly studies
focusing on innovative applications of new technologies to music,
including acousmatic and audiovisual composition; algorithmic music;
human-machine interaction, performance practice; music analysis,
musicology and the educational use of new music technologies.
Proposals are invited from prospective candidates who wish to research
in any area of the MTIRC’s strengths.
The studentship covers all tuition fees, includes an annual
maintenance grant, and may be held for full-time or part-time study.

Candidates for PhDs should normally have completed the requirements
for an appropriate Masters-level qualification prior to commencement
of doctoral study.
