Betreff: 2012 Electroacoustic Barn Dance Call for Scores, now with 5.1
The Department of Music at the University of Mary Washington is
pleased to announce a call for submissions for the Second Annual
Electroacoustic Barn Dance, a three-day festival of electronic music
and art, to be held November 8 – 10, 2012 on the campus of the
University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
This years festival will feature Violist Johanna Beaver, Violinist
Elise Blake, Flutist Doug Gately, Pianist Kari Johnson and Clarinetist
Cheryl Melfi. Composers are encouraged to submit works for
consideration of the featured artists.
Music Submissions
Any composer regardless of age or nationality may submit up to two
works for tape alone or instrument(s) and tape [fixed media] or
electronics up to 5.1 channels, and video for consideration.
Applicants are encouraged to bring their own performers when not
submitting works for the featured soloists.
Johanna Beaver is accepting works for Viola
Elise Blake is accepting works for Violin
Doug Gately is accepting works for Flute & Alto Flute
Kari Johnson is accepting works for Piano
Cheryl Melfi is accepting works for Bb Clarinet
Deadline: Scores/Materials must be submitted/arrive by June 15, 2012.
We will respond by August 1.

Paper Submissions
Technical and research papers, lecture demonstrations, and workshop
submissions that deal with music/multimedia and new technology are
encouraged. Paper sessions are 20 minutes, including Q & A, each.
Presenters may submit a maximum of two proposals.
Deadline: Papers must be submitted/arrive by June 15, 2012. We will
respond by August 1.
