Many thanks to the folks who have already responded with their music. We are amassing a great repository for the Municipal Conservatory at Thermi in Greece — please help us by sending YOUR piece(s)!

Call for “Instrument(s) with Technology” Scores and Media

Municipal Conservatory at Thermi (Greece) Score Repository Project 2013

THE PROJECT

I am working with faculty/staff at the Municipal Conservatory at Thermi (Greece) to create an electroacoustic score repository. This repository will provide new, performable music to students and faculty (most of whom are performers) at the conservatory. All received scores and media will be housed in the conservatory’s library and will be made available to students and faculty for research, study, and performance. I am also teaching a seminar for performers during Spring 2014, so this repository will provide students with ample materials to introduce them to the wide world of performing with technology. (Note: I cannot guarantee your piece will be performed on a concert. Submitting to this call is equivalent to donating your materials to a library.)

DEADLINE

Scores, parts (if applicable), and all performance media must be received by Friday December 13

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Please send pieces that combine acoustic instrument(s) with an electroacoustic component. There is no limit to the number or types of instruments, but piece using fewer instrumental sources are more likely to be performed. Multi-channel pieces may be submitted but there are currently no resources to perform multi-channel works. Pieces may be:

– instrument(s) with fixed media
– instrument(s) with live electronics
– instrument(s) with video/electroacoustics

WHAT TO SEND

Please send printed HARD COPIES ONLY. No electronic submissions will be accepted. You may send a maximum of TWO pieces. Please include all components to allow someone to perform your piece. Incomplete scores will not be taken to Greece. Please send:

– full score (printed and bound)
– all parts for performance (if applicable, printed)
– performance instructions including equipment needed, configuration, etc. as applicable (this can be part of the full score)
– hard copy (data or audio CD, DVD or flash drive) of your fixed media part, live electronics part*, or video

* Students/Faculty interested in your music might not have access to the software you used to build the live electronics. Please save your program/patch as a collective/application, etc. so that the piece can be easily run without complicated installation processes or purchasing. Thanks!
