Dear all,
I am glad to announce the call for papers is now open for the 1st
International Congress for Electroacoustic Music – Electroacoustic Winds
2015 in Aveiro, organised by the Research Centre for Electro-Acoustic
Music (CIME) and the Institute for Ethnomusicology – Research Centre for
Music and Dance (INET-md) at the University of Aveiro, in collaboration
with Arte no Tempo.
The Congress will take place between the 17th and 20th of September
2015, at the Centro Cultural e de Congressos in Aveiro, with the special
presence of the composers John Chowning (1934), Jean-Claude Risset
(1938) and Daria Semegen (1946). Besides the conference, EAW 2015 also
includes a set of workshops for musicians and sound engineers. For the
broader public, there will be various lectures and concerts (from 16th
September on).
With the inclusion of a historiographical approach to electroacoustic
music research, the conference covers a wide range of topics related to
current research in this field, including:
sonification
sound and image
composition and noise
algorithmic composition
spatialization
synthesis
interpretation / performance
preservation in live electronics
Guest speakers: Michael Iber, António Sousa Dias, Luís Antunes Pena,
Ludger Brümmer, Flo Menezes, Alexander Mihalič, Miguel Azguime.
The deadline for papers submission is May 24th.

The Research Centre for Electroacoustic Music (CIME) was created in 1997
at the Department of Comunication and Art, at the University of Aveiro.
It is an experimental centre comprising the fields of creation and
research in electroacoustic music. Currently directed by Isabel
Soveral, in 2014 the CIME launched the communication platform
‚Electroacoustic Winds‘, seeking to disseminate the work developed in
this studio and to establish relationships with international partners.
