The international symposium on design, development, and dissemination of
new musical instruments focuses on the many different identities and
forms of contemporary musical instruments. Taking into account the broad
range of involved disciplines, it aims to contribute to a better
understanding of the conditions of instrumentality in the digital age.
The symposium is accompanied by a concert evening and an exhibition of
instruments developed for the 3DMIN project, as well as a hands-on session.

Das internationale Symposium rund um den Entwurf, die Entwicklung und
Verbreitung (design, development, and dissemination of new musical
instruments, 3DMIN) befasst sich mit den zahlreichen, unterschiedlichen
Ausprägungen und Formen von Musikinstrumenten der Gegenwart. Als
Schnittfläche unterschiedlichster Disziplinen zielt es auf eine
vertiefte Auseinandersetzung mit den Bedingungen für Instrumentalität im
digitalen Zeitalter ab. Das Symposium wird umrahmt von einem
Konzertprogramm und einer Ausstellung von neuen Musikinstrumenten, die
im Rahmen des 3DMIN-Projekts entstanden sind. Eine finale Hands-on
Session lädt zudem dazu ein, diese Instrumente selbst auszuprobieren.
