Die Konzert-Reihe Audiovisionen startet ins Neue Jahr und wir freuen uns riesig, die Zwingli-Kirche wieder mit ausgewählter elektronischer und akustischer Live-Musik bespielen zu können.

Zwei Konzerte von zwei Ausnahmekünstlerinnen, die sich in der elektronischen Club-Musik, wie in der elektronischen Konzertmusik zuhause fühlen.

Jamaica Suk (Modular Synthesizer + E-Bass)
Susanne Kirchmayr aka Electric Indigo, DJ, Musikerin und Komponistin, trat seit 1989 in bislang 45 Ländern rund um den Globus auf. Ihr Name steht für die intelligente und eigenständige Interpretation von Techno und elektronischer Musik. 1998 gründete sie das transnationale Netzwerk female:pressure, das 2009 mit einer Honorary Mention beim Prix Ars Electronica bedacht wurde. Als Komponistin erhielt Electric Indigo 2020 den Kunstpreis Musik der Republik Österreich.
Ihr musikalisches Schaffen oszilliert zwischen immersiver, elektroakustischer Musik und den Tanzflächen dunkler Clubs. Gelegentlich schreibt sie auch für Theater und Film. 2019 komponierte Kirchmayr für das Klangforum Wien und ihre Werke wurden auf Festivals wie Wien Modern, Musikprotokoll, CTM oder Heroines of Sound uraufgeführt.
2018 wurde Electric Indigos Debutalbum „5 1 1 5 9 3“ auf Imbalance Computer Music veröffentlicht, 2020 folgte das Album „Ferrum“ auf Editions Mego. Im Frühjahr 2022 erscheint ihr Werk „Brittle“ auf Ventil Records.
Jamaica Suks begann Ihre Karierre in San Francisco, tags als Jazzmusikerin und nachts als DJ und Veranstalterin von monatlichen Underground-Partys in Lagerhäusern und in der 222 Hyde Street. Inspiriert wurde Suk von Bands wie Sun0))), Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Pansonic und Formen des Minimalismus – insbesondere Steve Reichs Kompositionen. Jamaica Suk, von Boiler Room als eines der „bestgehüteten Geheimnisse Berlins“ bezeichnet, hat ihre Jazz-und Metal-Wurzeln aus der kalifornischen Bay Area mit einem Gespür für gefühlvollen, treibenden Techno verschmolzen. Mit Bass-Gitarre, Modular-Synthesizern und der Kunst der Improvisation schickt sie uns heute auf eine Reise zwischen Ambient und Noise.

Jamaica Suk (modular synthesizer + electric bass)
Susanne Kirchmayr aka Electric Indigo, DJ, composer, musician, has performed in 45 countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. She represents an intelligent and distinguished interpretation of techno and electronic music. In 1998 she founded the transnational female:pressure network for which she received an Honorary Mention at Prix Ars Electronic in 2009. As a composer the Republic of Austria awarded her with the Kunstpreis Musik in 2020.
Kirchmayr creates music for concert spaces and clubs, and occasionally for stage plays and short films. In her compositions and live performances, she emphasizes the spatial placement and precise structures of subtly elaborated sounds, often generated with granular synthesis. She premiered her works at festivals like Wien Modern, Musikprotokoll, CTM or Heroines of Sound and composed for Klangforum Wien. Her debut album “5 1 1 5 9 3” came out on Imbalance Computer Album, followed by „Ferrum“ on Editions Mego in 2020. “Brittle” will be released on Ventil Records in Spring 2022.

With bass guitar, modular synthesizers, and the art of improvisation, she sends us on a journey between ambient and noise.
