Das DFF – Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum zeigt den 2016 vom DFF restaurierten Film DER KAMPF UMS MATTERHORN (DE 1928, R: Nunzio Malasomma/Mario Bonnard).

Die Musik des Trios Teichmann Hurt, um die Elektronikmusikern und DJs Gebrüder Teichmann und dem Komponisten und Zitherspieler Leopold Hurt, zeichnet sich durch ihre stilistisch ungebundene Herangehensweise aus: eine unverkrampfte, immer wieder überraschende Arbeit mit Sounds und Harmonien, die ihre unterschiedliche Herkunft nie zu verschleiern suchen – von der Neuen Musik bis hin zu authentischer Volksmusik, von Pop-entlehnten Harmonien bis hin zu experimenteller Elektronik.
Dabei bilden die Klänge der (E-)Zither die Ausgangsbasis für eine konzentrierte Weiterverarbeitung in Echtzeit. Das bewusst analog gehaltene Elektronik-Setup der Brüder verleiht der Musik eine zusätzliche, sehr persönliche Färbung. Gemeinsam schaffen sie so einen Klangraum, der unerwartet, überraschend und neu, dabei aber immer irgendwie vertraut klingt.
Das Screening ist Teil der Veranstaltungsreihe „A Season of Classic Films“, die von der Association des Cinémathèques Européennes (ACE). Sie wird unterstützt vom European Commission’s Europe Creative.

Für das Projekt „Dulab Al Paloma“ haben wir im KulturRaum Zwingli-Kirche e.V. einen elektronischen Live-Remix von La Paloma kreiert – unseren Al La Paloma:

Basis für den „Remix“ waren Fragmente der vorhergegangenen Al Palomas, die wir vom Walkman in die Maschinen geschickt haben.
Aufgenommen haben wir unseren Beitrag in der Zwingli Kirche, im Geiste der Konzert-Reihe Audiovisionen.

Auf unserem Label NOLAND steht ein neuer Release an:
ab 28.05. gibt es die Citysynthesis EP digital auf allen Plattformen.
CitySynthesis ist eine Erkundung des klanglichen Herzens der Stadt Nairobi von DJ Raph (Nairobi) und Sophia Bauer (Köln/Nairobi).
Die gleichnamige EP ist aus dem Material ihres Archivprojekts soundsofnairobi (http://soundofnairobi.net/) geschmiedet.
Die vier Tracks entspringen den Klanglandschaften einer rastlosen Stadt, schreiten voran, mutieren, durch unkartierte Harmonien und Dissonanzen, verstreute Percussions und gebrochene Rhythmen, manchmal konkret und poetisch.

The DFF – Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum shows the film DER KAMPF UMS MATTERHORN (DE 1928, R: Nunzio Malasomma/Mario Bonnard), digitized by the DFF in 2016. Re-scored by Leopold Hurt (electric zither) and Gebrüder Teichmann (live electronics, processing).
The screening is part of the „A Season of Classic Films“ series of events coordinated by the Association des Cinémathèques Européennes (ACE), now in its third year. It is supported by the European Commission’s Europe Creative.

CitySynthesis is an exploration of the sonic heart of the city of Nairobi by DJ Raph (Nairobi) and Sophia Bauer (Cologne/Nairobi). The eponymous EP is forged from the material of their archive project soundofnairobi.net and nothing else.
