Mit seiner vierten Ausgabe kreiert das Klangkunstfestival Soundcinema eine akustische Heterotopie inmitten der Hektik des Düsseldorfer Bahnhofsviertels: ein abgedunkelter Klangraum im Foyer des FFT, der auf visuelle Reize weitgehend verzichtet und einlädt, sich ganz auf das Hören zu konzentrieren. Angelehnt an akusmatische Raum-Klang-Umgebungen präsentiert das Festival 10 Audioproduktionen im Multichannel- und Stereoformat, die anschließend durch eine Fachjury, bestehend aus Thomas Venker, Waltraud Blischke und Damian T. Dziwis, und das Publikum prämiert werden.

Unter dem diesjährigen Themenschwerpunkt ‚Futurhythmus‘ fragt das Soundcinema, wie sich musikalische Zeit formiert und welche neuen oder alternativen Möglichkeiten existieren, um diese kompositorisch zu gestalten. Im Rahmen des Festivals werden Arbeiten präsentiert, die sich mit zeitgenössischen Mitteln den Potenzialen, Öffnungen und Grenzen rhythmischer Gestaltung widmen. Neben dem Themenschwerpunkt steht die freie Kategorie dem gesamten Spektrum elektroakustischer Musik offen: musikalische Kompositionen, Soundscapes, Klangcollagen und -experimente sowie narrative Audioformate und technoide Produktionen.
Mit Arbeiten von Marco Dibeltulu, Wolfgang Pérez, Jb Burguet, Katharina Bévand, Dennis Scheiba, Kaveh Sattari, Kai Niggemann und Conni Trieder, Jakob Schauer, Alexandru Șalariu, Paul Müller Reyes.

With its fourth edition, the sound art festival Soundcinema creates an acoustic heterotopia amidst the hustle and bustle of Düsseldorf’s train station district: a darkened sound space in the foyer of the FFT that largely dispenses with visual stimuli and invites the audience to concentrate entirely on listening. Inspired by acousmatic space-sound environments, the festival presents 10 audio productions in multichannel and stereo format, which are then awarded by a jury of experts and the audience. This year the jury consists of Thomas Venker,Waltraud Blischke and Damian T. Dziwis.

Under this year’s thematic focus ‚Futurhythmus‚, Soundcinema asks how musical time is formed and what new or alternative possibilities exist to shape it compositionally. The festival will present works that use contemporary means to explore the potentials, openings and limits of rhythmic composition. In addition to the thematic focus, the free category is open to the entire spectrum of electroacoustic music: musical compositions, soundscapes, sound collages and experiments, as well as narrative audio formats and technoid productions.
