Betreff: [cec-c] Coming up in Leicester, Wed. Dec. 5: MTI presents ‚The Colonial Piano‘
If anyone will be nearby Leicester in a few weeks: On Wednesday December 5th, 7pm, Music, Technology & Innovation/De Montfort University will be presenting a concert by Australian pianist Gabriella Smart, performing works for piano & live electronics – featuring the premiere of ‚Piano Ring‘, the most recent work by MTI’s Professor Simon Emmerson!
The concert is inspired by the historical narratives of seven colonial pianos that still exist in various locations across Australia today, offering a rich and complex perspective of Australia’s colonial history.
Also included are works by Cat Hope (AUS), Luke Harrald (AUS), Jon Rose (AUS/UK), Elena Kats Chernin (AUS/RUSS), and Konstantin Koukias (AUS/NL).
