A space for experimental thinking and arts @ Kammari residency in Cyprus

Call for sound artists, experimental musicians, performers and all other disciplines // in January 2019

Disciplines, work equipment and assistance
Our own work in the residency concentrates in combining academic research with disciplines such as music, performance, film and poetry. However we aim to promote and facilitate artistic work and research in all disciplines.

The residency has a small studio for performance, dance and music work with basic equipment such as a sound system, mixer, amp, instruments, projector and recording/documentation possibilities. We have another studio for painting and writing with basic tools for visual arts. We have a wood workshop with basic hand tools. There are also shared computers for writing, video and visual work.

We provide assistance to the artist in terms of connecting to other institutions and artists on the island. It is also possible to organise shows or performances. The hosts of the residency assist with all practical questions.

Location

The residency is located in a village called Treis Elies, in the Marathasa valley, west of the highest peak of Mount Olympus (1952m) in the mountain range of Troodos, Cyprus. The village has roughly 30 habitats all year round. The village is accessible daily by bus from Limassol. There is also a bus connection to Nicosia that leaves from a near by village daily.

Application information
The applications should include the CV/bio of the artist, the portfolio or examples of previous works (for example a link to a website) and a free form presentation / description of the project that the artist is going to be working on during the residency program. All this information should be provided by email: residency (at) kammari.org

The selection process is done by the working group of the Kammari Residency, which includes active artists and researchers. The call is open (without a deadline) and we aim to respond to applications within a week.

Please send an open application or any questions to our email: residency (at) kammari.org
