POSITION VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Position Title
Assistant Manager of Recording Services, Non Continuing Appointment
Primary Responsibilities
The Assistant Manager of Recording Services is responsible for audio/video recording, post- production, and live video streaming for events in the College of Musical Arts (CMA). Reporting to the Manager of Recording Services, this role also assists with managing student staff, events/staff scheduling, general office operations, and supports the technical needs of the CMA faculty. This is a part-time (20 hours per week) position that includes evenings and weekends.
Key responsibilities:
 Record audio, video, and run live stream for CMA concerts and events.
 Provide sounds reinforcement for CMA events.
 Mix and master recordings.
 Serve as an assistant engineer for studio recording sessions.
 Oversee post-production workflow to ensure timely delivery of assets; communicate with
clients regarding delivery of services.
 CD/DVD duplication.
 Manage the Recording Services events schedule and post-production schedule.
 Assist in the supervision of graduate and undergraduate student staff.
 Assist in the maintenance of classroom audio cabinets and faculty office stereo systems.
 Provide general department and recording booth maintenance.
Skills:
 Pro Tools experience is preferred.
 Basic video shooting, recording, and editing.
 Audio mastering.
 File and asset management.
 Proficient with both OSX and Windows operating systems.
 Management experience is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Minimum 1-year experience working in audio recording, mixing, live sound, or related
technical field.
2. Bachelor’s degree is required.
3. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
4. Proficiency with Digital Audio Workstations.
5. Excellent technical troubleshooting skills.
6. Detailed and client focused, with a professional demeanor; able to communicate clearly
and professionally in person and via email.
Salary & Benefits
Competitive and commensurate with peer institution levels for rank and position in keeping with candidate’s experience and credentials. Benefits are not available.
Expected Start Date: January 15, 2018

At a later date, finalists for the position will be asked to submit three current (dated within one year) original letters of recommendation and an original final transcript showing highest degree earned.
