FACULTY POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Purdue School of Engineering and Technology
Department of Music and Arts Technology

Position: Tenure Track Faculty – Music Technology
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Appointment: Effective August 2019

Responsibilities: Serve as the principal faculty charged with supervision and instruction in audio recording and related technologies. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in sound recording and audio engineering. Other potential areas of expertise, for both instruction as well as research interests, could include music information retrieval, audio spatialization, music perception and cognition, psychoacoustics, multimedia production, or live performance audio.

The Music and Arts Technology Department at IUPUI features multiple laboratories for audio engineering, acoustics, and telematic teaching and research. There is also ample opportunity for collaboration with other departments of the School of Engineering and Technology and across our growing research university.

The Department of Music and Arts Technology is uniquely situated in the School of Engineering and Technology on the urban campus of IUPUI. The department offers accredited undergraduate and graduate degrees in music technology and music therapy. Basic Qualifications
PhD or equivalent with an established track record in audio recording and related technology or other areas of music technology related to the responsibilities listed above.
