Call for student research assistant (sentire project, Institut für Musikwissenschaft und Medienwissenschaft, Humboldt University Berlin)

Sentire is a Berlin-based project and collective that began in 2016 as a participatory performance series, in which proximity and touch events between two people are sonified. It is now also an ongoing interdisciplinary research, connecting artists, researchers, developers and therapists. The main goal of our research is to develop a system that enhances body perception of its users and can be used in the context of music therapy.

We are currently looking for a student research assistant (40h/month, from December on)

Some of the main tasks are:

Programming software for the interactive sound system sentire
Programming algorithmic compositions for proximity sensor input
Refactoring existing Code Base (SuperCollider)

For an application you should:

Be matriculated in a German university
Have at least 2 semesters ahead
Have a german social insurance number
Have solid knowledge and experience in Object-oriented programming
Be able to work independently and autonomously
Have basic English and German speaking skills

It is beneficial if you:

Have experience in SuperCollider
Basic knowledge in Sound Synthesis
