MA and Doctoral scholarship opportunities in the Department of Music, University of Birmingham

The Department of Music at the University of Birmingham has a number of MA and doctoral scholarship opportunities that are open to UK/EU postgraduate students. These include: the Midlands3Cities Doctoral Training Partnership (M3C DTP), CAL Doctoral Scholarships, Bramall Music Scholarships, and Music Department Scholarships.

We invite applications from students with interests in any of the broad research areas of the department: musicology, ethnomusicology, composition (instrumental / electroacoustic / mixed). For more specific info, see staff pages: https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/schools/lcahm/departments/music/staff/index.aspx

The deadline for M3C funding applications (doctoral) is Monday 15 January 2018, by which time students must have applied for a place to study and have ensured that two academic references are submitted to the home university on the correct M3C form. For full details of eligibility, funding, research supervision areas and CDA projects, and for dates of our November application writing workshops, please visitwww.midlands3cities.ac.uk or contact enquiries@midlands3cities.ac.uk

The deadline for the CAL doctoral scholarship, as well as MA and Ph.D. Music Department Scholarships, is 2nd March 2018.

If you apply to one scheme, including M3C, your application will be considered for all. Hence, early application is recommended.
