Betreff: [cec-c] MA & PhD programs at McMaster
…
Just a note to call attention to our two graduate programs (the MA in Communication and New Media, and the PhD in Communication, New Media and Cultural Studies) that might be a good fit for EA-interested artist-researchers: http://csmm.humanities.mcmaster.ca/graduate-programs/
Both programs are relatively well-funded, and depending on applicants‘ research interests and background, there is the possibility to work in the Networked Imagination Laboratory (loudspeaker and display array, servers, very high bandwidth Internet connections). Other regular features that graduate students participate in include the Cybernetic Orchestra, separate reading groups in sound studies and software studies, and a group that explores data sonification (NADA).
I’d be happy to talk with prospective applicants about research proposals connected to EA, network music, live coding, NIME, etc, ahead of the deadlines – please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Yours truly,
David
