Die Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar veranstaltet zweijährlich einen Meisterkurs für junge Komponisten und Komponistinnen akusmatischer Musik. Die diesjährige Meisterklasse wird vom britischen Komponisten Jonty Harrison gegeben.
Fünf bis sechs Bewerber(innen) werden zu dem Meisterkurs von Jonty Harrison vom 11. bis 14. Juli nach Weimar eingeladen. Als Teil des Masterkurses wird jeder Teilnehmer ein eigenes akusmatisches Werk präsentieren und auf dem SeaM-Lautsprecherorchester einstudieren.
Aufgefordert, sich um den Meisterkurs in Weimar zu bewerben, sind junge Komponistinnen und Komponisten vorzugsweise nicht älter als 35 Jahre. Die Ausschreibung ist international. Bewerbungen für das Stipendium von Absolventinnen und Absolventen der Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar sind nicht möglich.
Die Bewerbung erfolgt mit einem formlosen Bewerbungsschreiben, einem Lebenslauf, sowie zwei bis drei akusmatischen Arbeiten. Eine der Kompositionen wird auf dem SeaM Lautsprecher Orchester für das Abschlusskonzert einstudiert und interpretiert. Das Konzertstück soll die Dauer von 15 Minuten nicht überschreiten.

– maximal 100 € für Teilnehmer aus Deutschland (außer Thüringen)
– maximal 350 € für Teilnehmer aus Europa
– maximal 950 € für Teilnehmer aus Ländern außerhalb Europas.

Master class in acousmatic composition

The University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar biannually presents master classes for young acousmatic composers. This year’s master class will be given by British composer Jonty Harrison.
Five to six applicants will be invited to Weimar to take part in Jonty Harrison’s master class from July 11th through 14th, 2019. As part of the master class, each participant will present one of their own acousmatic compositions and prepare the work for concert interpretation over the SeaM loudspeaker orchestra.
The competition is open to young composers of all nationalities preferably not over 35 years of age. Graduates of the University of Music FRANZ LISZT are not eligible to apply.
Applications should consist of a cover letter as well as a curriculum vitae and two to three acousmatic works, one of which will be interpreted in concert on the SeaM loudspeaker orchestra. The concert work should not exceed a duration of 15 minutes.

The deadline for applications is May 1st, 2019.

– 350 € for participants from Europe
– 950 € for participants from countries outside Europe
