The University of Huddersfield’s School of Music, Humanities and Media supports outstanding research activity and expertise in a number of areas including:

History
Music
Music Technology

Drama
Linguistics
Modern Languages
Media Studies
Journalism

The British Academy’s Post-Doctoral Fellowships are three-year awards made to an annual cohort of outstanding Early Career Scholars. The aim of the Fellowships is to offer opportunities for outstanding early career researchers to strengthen their experience of research and teaching in a university environment, thus developing their curriculum vitae and improving their prospects of obtaining permanent lecturing posts by the end of the Fellowship.

Eligible candidates who are interested in coming to Huddersfield on a British Academy Post-Doctoral Fellowship are encouraged to read the relevant information at http://www.britac.ac.uk/british-academy-postdoctoral-fellowshipshttp://www.britac.ac.uk/british-academy-postdoctoral-fellowships

Expressions of interest should be sent to Professor Monty Adkins (m.adkins@hud.ac.uk) by noon on 7th August 2017, consisting of one PDF document containing:

1) a one-page CV including education, publications, any awards, thesis title and examiners;

2) a two-page draft statement of research (which may use headings similar to those in the Leverhulme scheme’s notes of guidance);

3) an indication of any additional research expenses that may be needed for the proposed project, such as travel and subsistence.

If you would like to be considered, you are strongly advised to contact your proposed departmental mentor before submitting your proposal.

A selection process internal to the School of Music, Humanities and Media will determine which proposals go forward to a full application to The British Academy. A programme of mentoring will be offered to applicants deemed successful in this internal process.
