On behalf of the organizing committee, the steering committee, and the Live Coding Research Network, we are pleased to invite submission of proposed contributions to the International Conference on Live Coding 2017 (ICLC 2017) taking place in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico from December 4th to December 8th, 2017. ICLC 2017 follows the second edition <http://iclc.livecodenetwork.org/2016/> held at McMaster University, Ontario, Canada, and the inaugural edition <http://iclc.livecodenetwork.org/2015/> held at the University of Leeds, UK.

During ICLC 2017, paper presentations, performances, and workshops will take place at three important cultural centers: the Mexican Center for
Music and Sonic Arts (CMMAS) <http://www.cmmas.org/?lan=en&lan=es&lan=en>, the Centro Cultural Clavijero <https://es-la.facebook.com/centroculturalclavijero/> and the Comité de Asuntos Intangibles <https://es-la.facebook.com/comiteAsuntosIntangibles/>. The conference will have two Algoraves, one at the welcome reception and
another at the closing of the event.

Themes:

ICLC 2017 is open to any topic related to Live Coding. It aims to offer continuity with previous ICLC <http://iclc.livecodenetwork.org/> research
themes, highlighting topics connected to body, equity, and communities. Contributions that challenge the proposed themes will be welcomed. Some

Long and short papers

We invite long and short papers addressing original research relevant to ICLC 2017. Papers will be presented orally at the conference. To propose a short paper, extended abstract (2-4 pages) or long paper (5-12 pages) for the conference, please submit a complete draft of the paper/abstract, a condensed outline (100-150 words) and a short biography (100-150 words for each contributor) through the online peer review system <https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iclc2017>.

All paper proposals should have quotations that reference previous papers published in this and other conferences, as well as the application of appropriate research methods. The proceedings of the conference will be published with ISBN, and a DOI number for each article.

Posters and demos

We invite posters and demos proposals to be showcased at the conference. To propose a poster or demonstration for the conference, please submit a complete draft of an accompanying short paper (2-4 pages), a condensed outline (100-150 words) and a short biography (100-150 words for each contributor) through the online peer review system <https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iclc2017>. Please specify in the title whether your proposal is a poster or a demo when submitting it through the peer-review system (e.g. Poster-MyTitle.pdf).

All poster/demo proposals should have quotations that reference previous papers published in this and other conferences, as well as the application of appropriate research methods. The proceedings of the conference will be published with ISBN, and a DOI number for each article.

Performances

To propose a live coding performance for the conference, please submit a detailed abstract (no more than 2 pages), a stable link to a single video example, a brief outline/programme note (100-150 words), a short biography (100-150 words for each contributor), and the technical questionnairevthrough the online peer review system
<https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iclc2017>. Please support yourvsubmission with a clear description of your performance, and discussion of influences and prior art as appropriate. Please specify in the title that your proposal is a performance when submitting it through the peer-review system (e.g. Performance-MyTitle.pdf).

Workshops

We invite submission for short workshops (2 hours) and long workshops (4 hours). Topics of workshops could be either introductory or advanced and targeted toward experienced visitors to the ICLC, novices/newbies, students, people from other fields or the general public. To propose a workshop for the conference, please submit a detailed abstract (no more than 2 pages), a condensed outline (100-150 words), a short biography (100-150 words for each contributor), and the technical questionnaire
through the online peer review system <https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iclc2017>. Please specify in the title whether your proposal is a short or a long workshop when submitting it through the peer-review system (e.g. Short-workshop-MyTitle.pdf).
