The NYU Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions invites
applications for a tenure-track faculty position in music composition/
music technology at the Assistant Professor/Associate Professor level
to begin September 1, 2012.
Responsibilities:
Serve on the faculty of a large, multifaceted, performing arts
department, concentrating on music composition and music technology,
particularly in the artistic and compositional uses of technology,
teach courses, compose and perform, conduct research, advise students,
contribute to curricula and administration, manage adjunct faculty,
and provide advisement related to music composition and technology.
Qualifications:
Qualifications include an earned doctorate in music composition, music
technology or digital media, record of significant performances and
commissions on the national and international level and/or record of
scholarly publication in music composition and music technology,
proven leadership and administrative skills, college teaching
experience, and the ability to advise doctoral dissertation research
in music composition and technology. Participation in faculty
meetings, committees and other service appropriate to a university
faculty member is expected.
