Assistant or Associate Professor;

Title and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Teach courses, applied lessons, and independent studies in electronic and acoustic composition at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Supervise graduate student research. Direct and manage the electronic music studios. The successful candidate will be expected to curate and produce a mixed-media concert series among other collaborations with related programs on campus, including but not limited to arts and entertainment technologies, theatre and dance, engineering, and computer science.

The Butler School of Music, comprising some ninety music faculty and approximately 640 music students, has an outstanding reputation for its performance and academic programs. Degree plans range from the bachelors to the doctoral level. QUALIFICATIONS

DMA or PhD required. A portfolio demonstrating a record of excellence as a composer in electronic and acoustic formats. Professional experience should include curating mixed media concerts plus two or more of the following: composing for theater or stage; songwriting; sound art or installation; scoring for film, animation, computer games, or advertisements; or producing. A record of achievement teaching and recruiting a strong class at a university or conservatory. The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain professional activities appropriate for a tenured position at a Tier 1 research university.
