Colleagues, please circulate widely!

The Music Department at Colorado College invites applications for a 1-year (non-tenure track) visiting assistant professorship in music and technology for the 2017-2018 academic year. The emphasis of this position is on interdisciplinary and digital creativity within the liberal arts. Colorado College is committed to increasing the diversity of the college community; candidates who can contribute to that goal are particularly encouraged to apply, identifying experiences that will add to that diversity.

The ideal candidate will bring an intellectual approach to the history and literature of music and technology, offering courses such as digital music production and digital creativity. Preference will be given to candidates with coding experience. We are particularly interested in candidates willing to support the core content courses of the music department through a secondary area of interest, in addition to their individual areas of expertise.

Review of applications will begin on December 15, 2016; we will continue to consider applications until the position is filled.

The Colorado College, an Equal Opportunity Employer, welcomes members of all groups and reaffirms its commitment not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, or disability in its educational programs, activities, and employment practices.

Please submit the following materials in application to the position: cover letter, curriculum vitae, and teaching philosophy statement. All applicants need to list at least two references to submit letters of recommendation (at least one of which should address teaching ability).

Review of applicants will begin on December 15, 2016. Candidates selected to move forward will be asked for subsequent written or creative evidence of their work in music and technology.
