At Coventry University we are offering a number of PhD studentships in
Art, Design, Media and Performance.
This includes a PhD studentship in composition:
instrumental/vocal and/or electronics, and/or studio-based digital
composition, and/or contemporary music performance. The final portfolio
will consist of an aesthetic, technical and contextual commentary and up
to 50% (weighting) in original composition – and/or equivalent
performance-based work.
Candidate specification:
A graduate musician (with an appropriate Masters or equivalent
postgraduate experience) keen and able to interrogate issues around
contemporary composition and/or performance-based practice and relate
the research to their own creative output. We see the successful
candidate contributing to the University’s INTIME music research group.
Eligibility: UK/EU Students Only
Award Details: Tuition Fees + Maintenance grant: £13,726 per year
Duration: 3 years Fixed Term (Sept 2014 start)
