Open call – Ljudbio IV
Sunday 10 December 2017 – Slottsbiografen, Uppsala Sweden
Ljudbio IV is the fourth annual concert of electroacoustic music in Uppsala, Sweden, organised by the cultural association NEO. The venue is Slottsbiografen, a carefully restored cinema from 1914. (Slottsbiografen is also famously where a young Ingmar Bergman had his first cinematic experiences.)

The 2017 edition of Ljudbio is the first to be organised through an open call. This year’s theme centers on narrative – radio art, hörspeil, text-sound composition, sound stories, radio opera, etc. In short, stories told with electroacoustic tools.
In the early history of electroacoustic music, radio was in several ways at the heart of the electroacoustic genre. We are hoping to present a concert that reflects not so much this history, but nonetheless retains the idea of a distinct narrative using the aesthetics and techniques of electroacoustic music.
Please send us your fixed media compositions in any format from 2.0 to 5.1. Ideally, we would like to keep the duration to a maximum of around 8 minutes (but we are open to making exceptions). Send download links (Dropbox, WeTransfer, etc) to gb@girilal.com. Include a text document with a short bio and short programme notes (+ technical notes, if more than 2 channels). We are unable to pay any fees for this concert, but we will be paying royalties in accordance with standard practice in Sweden.
The deadline for this call is 20 November 2017.
