Betreff: Trevor Wishart: Neuerscheinung „Sound Composition“
Buch-Neuerscheinung mit Beilage von zwei Daten-CDs (Klangbeispiele).
Die Publikation besteht aus einem 162-seitigen ersten Teil mit sehr
detaillierten Informationen zu den einzelnen Stücken des Autors,
gefolgt von einem ähnlich breit angelegten zweiten Teil nur mit
handgezeichneten Partituren, die der Autor für die Aufführung seiner
Werke empfiehlt (Diffusion scores).
Folgende Werke werden in den einzelnen Kapiteln behandelt und dann auf
den aufklappbaren mehrseitigen grafischen Partitur verständlich
gemacht: Red Bird; Anticredos; The Vox Cycle; Vox 5; Tongues of Fire;
Fabulous Paris; The Division of Labour; Two Women & American Triptych;
Imago; Globalalia; Encounters in the Republic of Heaven.
Trevor Wishart kommentiert seine jüngste Publikation „Sound
Composition“:
…is a collection of writings with accompanying sound examples
detailing the composition of musical works where the organisation of
the sounds themselves is of primary importance. The book is based on
various illustrative lectures originally presented by the author on
the completion of particular compositional projects. Its focus is on
the musical structuring of the works. (For more details of the
