für junge Komponistinnen und Komponisten
2011 Akusmatische Komposition
Die Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar schreibt jährlich Aufenthaltsstipendien für junge Komponistinnen und Komponisten aus. In zweijährigem Rhythmus wird das Stipendium alternierend in Instrumentalkompostition und akusmatische Komposition ausgeschrieben. 2011: akusmatische Komposition 2012: instrumentale Komposition etc.
Den Stipendiatinnen und Stipendiaten wird für die Dauer von drei Monaten in Weimar kostenfreier Wohnraum sowie ein monatliches Stipendium in Höhe von 1000 Euro zur Verfügung gestellt, um in Weimar leben und künstlerisch arbeiten zu können. Während des Aufenthaltes haben die Stipendiatinnen und Stipendiaten zudem Gelegenheit, am künstlerischen und akademischen Leben der Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT teilzunehmen. Unter Umständen sind auch Aufführungen von Kompositionen durch Hochschulensembles oder das Studio für elektroakustische Musik (SeaM Weimar) möglich. Umfang und Art der künstlerischen Arbeit, die während des Aufenthaltes geleistet werden soll, werden nicht vorgegeben. Die Stipendiatinnen und Stipendiaten sind in der Gestaltung ihrer Arbeit frei. Die Stipendienaufenthalte sollten in der Vorlesungszeit stattfinden.
Die Mentorschaft für die Stipendiatinnen und Stipendiaten übernehmen Prof. Michael Obst (instrumentale Komposition) und Prof. Robin Minard (akusmatische Kompostition).
Aufgefordert, sich um einen Arbeitsaufenthalt in Weimar zu bewerben, sind Absolventinnen und Absolventen eines Studiums der Komposition. Die Bewerberinnen und Bewerber sollten möglichst nicht älter als 35 Jahre sein. Bewerbungen von Absolventinnen und Absolventen der Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar sind nicht möglich.
Die Bewerbung um ein Stipendium erfolgt mit einem formlosen Bewerbungsschreiben, dem ein Lebenslauf sowie wenigstens eine kompositorische Arbeit beigefügt sind. Bewerbungsschluss ist jeweils der 30. April.
Bis zu acht der Bewerberinnen und Bewerber werden zu einem Workshop im Juli nach Weimar eingeladen. Die Teilnehmer des Workshops zahlen eine Kursgebühr von 100 Euro; Übernachtungskosten und einen Reisekostenzuschuss übernimmt die Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar. Über die Bewerbungen entscheidet eine Auswahlkommission, u. a. bestehend aus Prof. Robin Minard, Prof. Michael Obst und Prof. Albrecht von Massow.

2011 acousmatic composition
The LISZT SCHOOL of Music Weimar annually grants scholarships for young composers to work in Weimar. The scholarship is awarded alternately for instrumental and for acousmatic composition. 2011: acousmatic composition 2012: instrumental composition etc.
The scholarship holders are granted free accommodation as well as a monthly grant of €1000 for a period of three months in order to live and work in Weimar. In addition, scholarship holders have the opportunity to take part in the academic and artistic life of the LISZT SCHOOL of Music Weimar. Depending on circumstances, the performance of compositions by college ensembles or the Studio for electroacoustic Music (SeaM Weimar) may be arranged. The quantity and type of artistic work to be produced during the stay in Weimar is not prescribed. The scholarship holders are free to shape their work in any way they like. The scholarship should be used while the Music School is in session.
The scholarship mentors are Prof. Michael Obst (instrumental composition) and Prof. Robin Minard (acousmatic composition).
Composition graduates are encouraged to apply. Applicants should not be older than 35. Graduates of the LISZT SCHOOL of Music Weimar may not apply.
Applications should consist of a cover letter as well as a curriculum vitae and at least one composition. The application deadline is April 30th of each year.
Up to eight applicants will be invited to a workshop which will be held in July in Weimar. Participants pay a participation fee of €100 while accommodation as well as a subsidy for travel expenses are paid for by The LISZT SCHOOL of Music Weimar. A jury consisting of, among others, Prof. Robin Minard, Prof. Michael Obst and Prof. Albrecht von Massow, will judge the applications.
