Hexagram Gaming Lab Technician
Job responsibilities include:
Give hands-on assistance to Users working with the gaming resources
Liaise with Researchers to determine ongoing technical needs
Troubleshoot and fine-tune equipment acquisitions, suggesting
necessary purchases and adjustments where necessary.
Establish procedures and how-to materials where necessary.
Maintain documentation related to system maintenance.
Research software and hardware solutions related to research activities.
Prepare and plan for upgrades (software &hardware).
Manage access to game resources
Advise users with regard to modifications andmaintenance related to
equipment.
Requirements:
Good spoken and written English (Level 4) to understand and provide
complex information, clear explanations, and to compose documentation,
correspondence and reports; basic spoken and written French (Level 3)
an asset.
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
Experience in online game distribution systems is an asset
Knowledge and interest in current game platforms as well as upcoming
tech for play and development is an asset.
Experience in a related field is an asset.
Have an interest in supporting innovative research, and the
development of art/design projects.
Must be good at problem solving and innovative thinking.
Must be driven, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
Demonstrated understanding of organizational structures is an asset.
Superior interpersonal and communication skills and exemplary client
service orientation.
Hours: 21 hours per week
