SAN FEDELE prize 2010-2013 Milan
For composers born after the first of January 1975

The applications must arrive within September 13th 2010 (see the
Competition Announcement and the Application Form on:

N.B. Next San Fedele Prize shall be on September 2013!

FIRST YEAR 2010-2011

October-December 2010 Four conferences in the morning on the theme
“Where am I” and work presentations in the afternoon with the
composers Alessandro Solbiati, Tito Ceccherini, Stefano Gervasoni and
Ivan Fedele

January-June 2011 Composition of a three-minute soloist score

Monday June 6th 2011: Final Concert with the 12 selected soloist
pieces, Auditorium San Fedele

Tuesday June 7th 2011: Workshop with the 13 non-selected soloist
pieces, Auditorium San Fedele

SECOND YEAR 2011-2012
Four conferences on the theme: What I am going trhough, Tutorage for
the 12 chosen composers, Final Concerts

October 8th and 9th 2011: Meeting with Helmut Lachenmann

November 2011: Three days Master-Class with Johannes Schöllhorn
composer, teacher of composition and director of the Institut für Neue
Musik at the Hochschule für Musik , Koln. Preparation of the 10 minute
chamber pieces

February-April 2012: Two Saturdays of workshop with Johannes
Schöllhorn, for the final preparation of the chamber pieces of the
second year

June 2012: Final Concerts with the 8 selected Chamber Music pieces and
Workshop with the 4 non-selected soloist pieces, Auditorium San Fedele

THIRD YEAR 2012-2013
Four conferences on the theme: What I am going trhough, Tutorage for
the 4 finalists, Final Concert and CD recording

October-Dicember 2012: four meetings on Saturday including a meeting
and a Master-Class with two important composers. Preparation of the 15
minute concertino for soloist and big ensemble

February-May 2013: Two Workshops for the final preparation of the
concertino

Final Concert of the Prize and CD recording (Autumn 2013)

At the end of the Prize (2013), the four Winner’s Works for soloist
instrument and ensemble (18/20 musicians) will be played by the
soloists:

Benny Sluchin, Trombone (Ensemble InterContemporain)

Pierre Strauch, Cello (Ensemble InterContemporain)

Dimitri Vassilakis, Piano (Ensemble InterContemporain)

Jérôme Voisin, Clarinet (first clarinet soloist of the Orchestra
Philarmonique de Radio France)

Workshops with the soloists for the final preparation of the concertino
