£34,337 – £41,227 pro-rata
7 hours per week Fixed Term for 12 months
University of the Arts London is a vibrant world centre for
innovation, drawing together six Colleges with international
reputations in art, design, fashion, communication and performing arts.
You will develop your research and practice within the aims and remit
of Creative Research in Sound Arts Practice (CRiSAP). We will look to
you to develop research projects and contribute to the academic
research profile and activities of the centre. In addition, you will
play a leading role in writing external funding bids for the centre in
order to sustain your research beyond the life of the fixed-term
appointment.
Regarded as an authority in your field, you will bring a PhD in sound
art theory, history and/or practice, or a related area. The ability to
lead the academic and/or professional development of your area of
expertise within the University is vital.
We are seeking candidates with a good record of research dissemination
(through exhibition, performance, publication and conference
presentation). Finally, the ability to communicate ideas clearly and
persuasively, summarising and interpreting complex, conceptual and
specialist matters accurately, is paramount.

You will take a leading role in the provision for doctoral students
within Creative Research in Sound Arts Practice (CRiSAP). We will look
to you to engage with prospective students, contribute to the
supervision of new and existing PhDs and embed them in the culture and
opportunities of the Centre and the wider University. In addition, you
will play a strategic role in the development of activities and
outcomes from CRiSAP research.
Regarded as a leading authority in your field, you will bring a PhD in
sound art theory, history and/or practice, or a related area (such as
a relevant field of anthropology, ethnomusicology or philosophy). You
will have successfully supervised at least two PhDs to completion. The
ability to lead the academic and/or professional development of your
area of expertise within the University is vital.
We are seeking candidates with an excellent record of research
