Experimental turntablist Ignaz Schick will guide participants through
the manifold and rich history of experimental turntablism and its
various techniques & approaches. He will give a short introduction
into the history of turntablism, presenting various styles from
musique concrete, fluxus, plunderphonics/downtown noise, onkyo, etc.
and will demonstrate various techniques behind those approaches. This
is a practical hands on workshop with a final concert of the ensemble.

material section:
we will try to provide basic tools & a few record players for the
workshop. it is wise if you bring your own turntable or inform us if
you have no access to a personal record player. try to also bring
something like 5-10 cheap flee market vinyls of various format (7″ to
12″) which you dont worry about if being damaged and heavily. try to
bring your own needles or system or take into account that damaged
needles have to be refunded/replaced and that material costs are
roughly about 25-30 Euros per needle. general material fee without
broken needles: 15 Euro
