On the occasion of Capital of Culture RUHR.2010 Christina Kubisch
developed an extensive project based on her electromagnetic
investigations in the Northern Ruhr area. It included a central
exhibition at the Skulpturenmuseum Marl, five Electrical Walks in
various cities of the northern Ruhr area, the video film „Wave
Catcher“ in collaboration with Peter Simon and Eckehard Güther, and
the publication of a catalogue with DVD.

The DVD contains the film „Wavecatcher“ which in it’s soundtrack is
displaying a large variety of electromagnetic as well as acoustic
recordings, without any dialogue.

Wenn wir Waren aus China nicht mehr bei uns einführten, so würde uns –
die Medizinen ausgenommen – nicht viel abgehen. Die chinesischen
Bücher sind ja in unserem Lande bereits weit verbreitet, und man kann
sie abschreiben. Ich halte es für ein sinnloses Treiben, daß man so
unnütze Fracht unaufhörlich auf die Schiffe lädt und in gefährlicher
Fahrt zu uns herüberbringt.
