LIGHTWORKS 2012: CALL FOR ENTRIES
Lightworks is
a one-night festival of film, sound and new media that takes place in
Grimsby Minster (UK) every year. The aim of Lightworks is to find new
audiences for contemporary art and to provide a platform for artists
working in new media.
We are now organising our third event after successful Lightworks
festivals in 2010 and 2011, where we attracted large and diverse
audiences.
Lightworks 2012 will take place on Friday March 16th.
There are two opportunities:
1) Open submission for existing video and sound work
2) Three commissions for new work in animation, sound and long form
video
Open Submission (existing work):
Video (up to three minutes)
Sound (up to three minutes)
The work chosen from open submission will be exhibited as part of
short compilations on projection screens or in sound installations.
Commissions (new work):
One animation commission: £500
One sound commission: £500
One longer-form video commission (up to 10 minutes): £1000
All commissioned work will be exhibited as individual installations of
sound or video.
There are no recommended themes, subjects, formats or treatments.
There is no entry fee for either Open Submission or Commission
opportunities.
