Assistant Professor, Musicology

The Department of Music at Stanford University invites applications for a tenure-track position in historical musicology at the rank of Assistant Professor. The applicant must have a conferred Ph.D. in their field by 1 September 2024.

The areas of research specialization are twentieth- and twenty-first-century art and/or popular music. Teaching responsibilities include four courses per year as well as the supervision and mentorship of Ph.D. students. The successful candidate will be expected to teach students at all levels and cover a range of topics in the history of music, including the required survey course for majors (Western music history since 1820).

The starting salary for this position is $110,200, for 2023–24.
