Minute/Year

Minute/Year is an automated, process-based, durational work, in which sound is played, recorded, and layered, in a resonant space, for one minute each day. This process has been ongoing, daily, since 2016. For the whole of 2025, the work is installed in ausland.

Sophie Löw alias SOPHIA BLENDA ist Songwriterin und Sängerin der Band CULK. Bereits auf ihrem ersten Soloalbum „Die Neue Heiterkeit“ (2022) stemmte sich die Wienerin mit schwermütig am Klavier vertontem und poetisch betextetem Kammerpop gegen das lähmende Grundrauschen gesellschaftlicher Zwänge. Ihre Musik ist ein leiser, aber wirkungsvoller Protest. Am 11.4.2025 erscheint nun ihr zweites Album. „DIE SUMME DER VEREINZELUNG“ ist eine Anklage, und ein feministischer Weckruf. „Wie viele Einzelfälle muss es noch geben, damit man begreift, dass es keine Einzelfälle gibt?!“, fragt das neue Album von SOPHIA BLENDA,

We aim to support artists in producing and developing their work. Our space is available for rehearsals, recordings and meetings. We host workshops and residencies, produce podcasts and music videos and previously produced a monthly radio show. The space is small (70 sqm / 5 m high), with wooden flooring, concrete walls, and windows, the room is soundproof.
