MAY 29, SZENE 10, ESSEN
RESONANCES OF MEMORY
To kick off this year’s BLAUES RAUSCHEN festival, the evening brings together three artistic positions that understand sound as an archive, as resistance and as an existential movement. What connects them is a practice of reactivation: material is not simply played back, but exposed, questioned and transferred into new contexts.
In ‘Rewilding’, Başak Günak develops acoustic ecosystems in which memory, identity and political order shift. In ‘Ezuakakne’, Christian Rosales Fonseca approaches colonially shaped sound archives as a sound-archaeological practice between erasure and preservation. In IKIGAI, Nadia Struiwigh transforms personal experiences into energetic, physically perceptible sound structures.
Together, they create a resonance chamber of critical self-location: past and present intertwine and become audible anew in the moment.
The location:
Szene 10 is an independent theatre and cultural venue for the independent scene with a focus on experimental music and performance. The concentrated space creates an immediate situation in which sound becomes present as a physical and social experience.
