Position: Tenure Track Faculty
Program: Music Engineering and Multimedia
Institute of Music, Science and Engineering (IMSE) in King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Bangkok, Thailand would like to invite applicants for faculty positions.
* Position
The successful candidate(s) will be employed first as lecturer, and thereafter, possibly promoted to assistant, associate and full professor, which is also the typical career ladder in Thai universities.
* Responsibilities
The successful candidate(s) are expected to teach 2~3 undergraduate courses per semester mainly in the area of sound recording/mixing/mastering, audio signal processing and acoustical engineering, but also some basic engineering subjects, including, for example, mathematics and physics. Supervising junior/senior projects, faculty members are also expected to carry out research activities with verifiable outcome.
* Qualification
– Applicants must hold master or doctoral degrees (doctoral degree preferred) in the following or equivalent fields of study: Audio engineering, music technology, acoustical engineering, electrical/electronic engineering, communication engineering, and computer engineering.
– Applicants must be fluent in English.
– Applicants must be qualified to work in Thailand (e.g., no crime record, and so on).
* Remuneration
For recent PhD graduates, the gross salary starts at 32760 Thai Baht (regular salary) + 35000 Thai Baht (subsidy for foreign lecturer) per month, which must be considered together with the low level of tax rate and living cost in Thailand. Other benefits include pension and basic health/accident insurance.

KMITL (http://www.kmitl.ac.th/en) is one of the leading universities in Thailand, founded in 1960 and located near Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Bangkok. IMSE is a new faculty just separated from the Faculty of Engineering, and since 2014, we offer a 4-year undergraduate program (BEng) in Music Engineering and Multimedia.
