RICHMOND, Va. (USA) – The seventeenth annual Third Practice Electroacoustic Music Festival will take place on November 3-4, 2017 in the Modlin Center for the Arts on the campus of the University of Richmond.

Third Practice, presented by the Department of Music and the Modlin Center for the Arts, is an annual festival of new electroacoustic music and works for mixed media.

Highlights of this year’s festival include:

• performances by Grammy-winning ensemble-in-residence Eighth Blackbird

• performances by guest artist Sam Wells (trumpet)

• outdoor installation by Tim Feeney

• Virginia exchange concert featuring works from schools across the state

• six concerts including works for traditional instruments, glass harmonica, chin, pipa, laptop orchestra, and motion sensors
