TEM – Taukay Edizioni Musicali and Delta Produzioni Associazione Culturale announce the results of the International Competition for Composers „Città di Udine“ – Eighth Edition (2010).

The Jury is thus composed:

Ivo Nilsson (Sweden)

469 scores and recordings are arrived at our office (163 for “electro-acoustic music” section and 306 for “chamber instrumental group” section).

The Jury made a first selection.
The Finalists for the “electro-acoustic music” section were:

Between the Finalists the Jury chose:
* First Prize absolute for the “instrumental chamber group” section (1000 euros, public performance and realization of a CD of the concert)
Marco Marinoni (Italy) with the composition Del vuoto incanto for  
string quartet and stereo audio track.

* Special Prize Piero Pezzé for the “instrumental chamber group” section (700 euros, public performance and realization of a CD of the concert)
Admir Shkurtaj (Albania) with the composition Quartetto per archi n.2 for string quartet.

* Special Mention and medal of the Presidente della Repubblica Italiana for the “instrumental chamber group” (public performance and realization of a CD of the concert)
John Palmer (UK) with the composition Transference for violin, flute, clarinet, cello and piano.

* First Prize absolute for the “electro-acoustic music” section (1000 euros, public performance and realization of a CD of the concert)
Gabriel Dufour-Laperrière (Canada) with the composition Plier-Déplier.

* Special Mention and medal of the Senato della Repubblica Italiana for the “electro-acoustic music”  section (public performance and realization of a CD of the concert)
Tom Williams (UK) with the composition Can.

Between the Finalists three compositions from the „instrumental chamber group“ section have been selected for the performance in October.

Stefano Bonilauri (Italy) with the composition Coda 08 for cello and piano

Mauricio Meza (Mexico) with the composition Confabulation 1.7 for flute/piccolo, clarinet in Bb/ bass clarinet, piano, violin and cello

Kah Hoe Yii (Malaysia) with the composition Wild Cursive for vibraphone, violin, viola and cello.

The eight compositions selected will be performed during the New Music festival “Contemporanea 2010” in October in Udine (Italy).

For the “electro-acoustic music” section have been selected also the following seven compositions that will be included on a CD dedicated to “electro-acoustic music” section:

Massimo Carlentini (Italy) with the composition Saturation Z
Gustavo Adolfo Delgado (Argentina/Italy) with the composition In bilico
Sébastien Lavoie (Canada) with the composition In My Camaro
Kuei-Fan Lin (Taiwan) with the composition id, super ego, and ego
Roeland Luyten (Belgium) with the composition Hooks
Ake Parmerud (Sweden) with the composition Crystal Counterpoint
Adam Stansbie (UK) with the composition Escapade

The 2 CDs with the 15 chosen compositions will be inserted between the records of TEM – Taukay Edizioni Musicali.
