UNDAE! is a radio show on Radio Círculo de Bellas Artes, and dedicates
to promoting electroacoustic art in a very open programation combining
reviews and interviews of pioneers, underground or emergent artists,
without any restriction in regards of easthetics or musical genres.

After two years of existence, now the radio will be only availiable in
streaming. The radio site will be soon updated.

For this new adventure we are seeking works of all kind of easthetic in
the field of electroacoustic art. That can be composed or improvised,
sound art, radio art, soundscapes, etc etc…

For a review/programation of your work, please send us a link for a
downloadable zip file that will show your name : „your_name.zip“ that
will contain a bio, a program note and the audio, to

auf dem Programm steht elektroakustische Musik, live gespielt auf Computern, Schlagzeugen, Spielzeugen und traditionellen abendländischen Instrumenten wie Mandoline und Kleine Grüne Plastiktrompete – in zahlreichen Grenzbereichen von Komposition, Improvisation, Interpretation, Aletorik, Serialität und NuJazz.

„Der Begriff ‚Musik‘ wird hier konterkariert und fast bis zur Unkenntlichkeit zerstückelt, um in der Neuformation der Klangteilchen die musikalische Schönheit zu intensivieren … Erst in der absoluten Dekonstruktion ergibt sich in diesem Sound eine eigenartige Harmonie … Eigentlich ist es viel zu schrecklich, aber man muss trotzdem hinhören.“

Opera and the Media of the Future

A Sussex/Glyndebourne Research Initiative

The Centre for Research in Opera and Music Theatre at the University of
Sussex announces a new research project with Glyndebourne Opera, to be
initiated by a two-day event which will be held at Glyndebourne on 24th &
25th October, 2014.

Opera and the Media of the Future will bring together academics and opera
professionals to consider the impact of opera cinecasts upon the way that
audiences engage with opera today, and to look ahead to see how new digital,
web-based and mobile media platforms might shape the future forms of opera.

Commission

We are pleased to announce a modest commission for a small web-based opera
work to be ‘premiered’ at the conference in October. If accepted, this piece
will be hosted by the Sussex Reframe website
(http://reframe.sussex.ac.uk/) (or similar). It should be ready for testing
by the 10th of October and will ‘go live’ on the 23rd.

Deadline for submission of proposals is 3rd July 2014. Results will be
announced on July 17th. There will be an all-inclusive commission fee of
£500.

The Brief:

This ‘opera’ will exist online. It will be encountered by its audience via a
website. You may include mobile technology if you wish. The opera may be any
duration (including very short, as this is only a modest
commission) or may not be time-based at all. It may have interactive
elements. There will ideally be something to see, and something to hear.
Preference will be given to the most innovative re-imaginations of the
operatic form for this medium. You should consider the following questions:

· What does opera ‘mean’ on this scale and through this medium?

· How can you engage your audience?

· What is your work’s relation to the ‘live’?

· In what sense is it ‘operatic’ – eg are there elements of traditional
opera such as singing, plot, spectacle, scenography, etc? Have you
significantly re-imagined these elements?

· Is there a sense (real or implied) that the opera is happening in a real
place to which we are linked via the internet or is it taking place entirely
in virtual space?

The Bangor Dylan Thomas Prize

for Electroacoustic Composition

The Bangor Dylan Thomas Prize has been organized as part of the Dylan
Thomas 100 festival, a year-long celebration of the life and work of
Welsh poet Dylan Thomas in the 100^th year since his birth.

Composers of any age and nationality are invited to submit fixed
medium sound compositions for fixed medium only, of between two and
thirty-two channels. The compositions should be inspired by or relate
explicitly to the literary works of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas (1914-1953).

A maximum of three works will selected as finalists in the
competition, and performed as part of a special concert to be held in
Bangor, North Wales, on 28th October 2014. During the concert the
audience will be asked to vote to select one of the works as the prize
winner, with the result being announced at the end of the concert. The
winning work will be awarded a prize of £750.

There is no entry fee.

Deadline for entries: Friday 12th September 2014.

Liebe DEGEM-News Leserinnen und Leser,

wir laden euch herzlich ein zur Premiere von „AG Klang“, einem
postfuturistisches Chorkonzert.

AG Klang gib es in dieser Woche Mittwoch bis Freitag in Münster im
Theater im Pumpenhaus zu sehen und zu hören (04., 05. und 06.06.).

Was ist AG Klang?

Ein Chor? Eine Maschine? Verrückte Geräuschemacher? Ein Donnern,
Krachen, Prasseln, Grollen, Pfeifen, Zischen, Schnauben, Surren,
Gurgeln, Kreischen, Knarren, Knacken, Rascheln, Knistern, Knattern,
Scharren — Der AG KLANG Geräusch-Chor‚singt‘ die Geräusche der
heutigen Arbeit. Statt auf Loopstation, Sampler und Elektronik greifen
wir auf das uralte Mittel Chor zurück. Zusammen mit einem Dirigenten
(Kai Niggemann) und einem Protagonisten (Thomas Schweins) folgt der Chor
den Spuren der Klänge heutiger Arbeitsplätze: Tastaturklicken,
Lüfterrauschen, Automatenächzen, ganz kleine und ganz große Maschinen –
die vorher in realen Arbeitsumgebungen dokumentierten Sounds fügen sich
zu einer ungewöhnlichen und zuweilen schrägen Partitur zwischen Harmonie
und Noise, Experimentalmusik und Beat Box zur menschlichen
Geräuschmusik zusammen. A cappella stellt der Chor den
akustisch-musikalischen Charakter unserer Arbeitswelt in den Mittelpunkt
und sucht virtuose und unterhaltsame Umsetzungen.

Das postfuturistische Chorkonzert geht von Luigi Russolos futuristischem
Manifest „Die Kunst der Geräusche“ aus, in dem er bereits vor 100 Jahren
die Geräusche der modernen Welt – tönende Maschinen und lärmende
Großstädte – zur wahren Musik seiner Zeit erklärte.
Paradeiser Productions bauen auf dieser Idee auf: Der Chor übernimmt
durch menschliche Stimmen und Körper die Reproduktion der Sounds von
heute. Russolos Manifest wird auf der Bühne mit der Arbeitswelt von 2014
konfrontiert. Zwischen Rekonstruktion und Neuerfindung
hinterfragen Paradeiser Productions die Grenze von Arbeit und Kultur,
Mensch und Maschine. Was kommt nach dem Fortschritt?

Institut für neue Medien (INM),

In dem Konzertprogramm DARK ENERGY treffen Field Recordings und deren
synthetische Verfremdung auf Klänge analoger Synthesizer und gehackter
Keyboards.
CLUBbleu programmieren dafür interaktive Software und integrieren
verschiedenste Arten von Controllern und Sensoren in ihre Bühnenprogramme.
Musikalisch verbinden CLUBbleu ihre Einflüsse aus elektroakustischer
Musik mit Elementen aus Triphop, Industrial und Death Metal.
CLUBbleu sind Felix Leuschner (Elektronik, Instrumente) und Julia Mihály
(Elektronik, Instrumente).

Außerdem am 4. Juni live zu hören: Diatribes (CH) – a duo of hyperactive
improvisors from Geneva, Switzerland, since 2004 – is defined by an
assemblage of objects/percussions/electronics,
a dense and laid sound, a tension between horizonality and cuts, an
acoustic hyper-sensibility, a minimal language with a generosity of
matter, layering textures and drones in an lively but stable way.
